Stonycreek Genealogy was founded by Trish Buben in 2025. Stonycreek Genealogy is here to help find your family's story. Every family has one to share, it just has to be found.
Trish is a graduate of ProGen (67). She has attended multiple institutes including GRIP (Walking in Penn's Woods) and IGHR (Beginning DNA for Genealogists). She is currently serving as coordinator for ProGen 69. She volunteers with the North Hills Genealogists as part of the newsletter committee. She is also a member of the Western Pennsylvania Genealogical Society. Living outside of Pittsburgh, Trish has access to numerous repositories in western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio and northern West Virginia. Her personal research focuses strongly on the Stonycreek River's watershed -- mainly Cambria and Somerset Counties.
Analysis - Professional genealogists are trained in analyzing every aspect of a document to get the most information out of it.
Ethics - A professional genealogist follows the Genealogical Proof Standard (GPS) to ensure credibility in genealogical research answers.
Experience - A professional genealogist has knowledge of offline repositories that may house the documents you are seeking. They also know how to navigate the numerous online repositories that can not only be expensive to access, but also confusing to use.
